No, it is not a test movie it is a new batman movie that was made on a shoe-string budget and was shown at this years Comic-Con. It is called Batman: Dead End.

Here is some more info courtesy of Empire Online

    The Best Batman Ever?
Perhaps the biggest shock of all was the unveiling of what has been widely hailed as the absolute finest Batman film ever, bar none. No this wasn't a preview of Chris Nolan's upcoming fifth film, but rather a short film made on a shoe-string budget that has managed to put its multi-million dollar forbears to shame. Batman: Dead End, stunned all present with its depiction of a rain-soaked showdown between The Joker and the Dark Knight and was promptly declared the most faithful recreation yet. Forget Burton and Schmacher, if sources are to be believed, this is where it's at. This Proves once and for all that you don't need big names, plastic bodysuits or sculpted nipples to bring Batman to life, so Mr Nolan, we hope you're paying attention.

jokergrina.jpg is creepy! I love it though because I always thought the world of Batman should be creepy.

Haven't seen this short though. Gnome you say it was shown at Comic-Con this year? Is it gonna get any other release?

So this is an independant movie. If so then that's not too bad, I still plan on buying the Batman Beyond DVD, but this I'm unsure about.

OK so plastic nipples are not nessisary, but Batman should cause fear in his victims. The dark night and all that crap. Why is he wearing a bright blue thin peace of material. He looks too fragile. Best Batman will always be the animated TV show, with Batman Of The Future-Return Of The Joker as the best film.

I agree whole heartedly, although I haven't seen the short yet (thanks for the link, BTW... I will watch it later).

So far, though, I haven't seen anything to compare with the animated series of Batman dating back to the early 1990s. Batman: The Animated Series, The Adventures of Batman and Robin, Batman: Gotham Knights, The Batman/Superman Adventures (at least the Batman side), Batman Beyond, and now Justice League all have the best portayal of the Dark Knight outside of comic books.

And I am completely convinced that nobody can do the Joker better than Mark Hamill.

Thanks, that one actually had a good atmosphere, though it would have been infinitely better without dialogue. I just hope that didn't spoil the alternative Batman graphic novels that I haven't read yet.

I thought the dialogue was pretty well-done.
It's the Predators and Aliens I could have done without.

that was amusing. Was ready for a good Joker vs Batman thing and then...welll....that was the last thing I expected.

recommended download even if batman is kinda wearing blue rather then grey. It works without plastic nips - seriously

I loved it. Thought it was loads of fun.
Could have lived without the cliffhanger ending though. Is it a sequence of films or is it just suppose to mean Batman is gonna die?

I thought that the start of the movie was pretty good, right up until the Joker was taken , and then it kinda took a trip in to the Twilight Zone.

Not the best Batman film ever (the recent animated films still rein supreme), but this had very good potential.
