should editman start posting ALL Bond teaser & trailers available?...

My vote: Not unless JPB gives me the access to post trailers on the M-L servers, like bender & carl do!
Like I said. They're not Bond films! They're simply films that happen to feature the character of James Bond. Since they're not Bond films then why would you include them in a favourite Bond films poll?

On the second note, I heard the old Bond trailers were naff. Oh wait I heard it from Chris, who says all old trailers are naff. Maybe JP wants to make a month of it though.

Of course they are Bond films. The main character is named James Bond!

Seriously, Casino Royale is still based on the book/story, even though the thing is a farce.

Never Say Never Again is a remake of Thunderball, and the characters are based on the original novel.

They may not be Broccoli Bond films. But just because they didn't come from Cubby Broccoli's camp doesn't mean they're not Bond films.

Who cares if the quality's bad!? (If I'm encoding I won't do them all 720x576 anyway!) There's always a queue of people waiting to DL these as long as they're not available online.

If JPB let me into the M-L server, hell I'll encode & post them all!

The reason he's not (yet) granting editman the privileges is because I'm not as active off the Forum (on chat, PM etc) as the rest of you. Or maybe because I'm not 'transparent' to him as the rest of you guys. Or simply he dislikes, even hates editman.

This is a political persecution, man...

I would say that if a studio makes a series of films, and then some other studio uses that character for their own film it should remain unnoficial, so it wouldn't be counted in the series.
I'm well aware of what they are. Casino Royale is a farce based on a serious novels name. From what I've heard the novel did not involve James Bond's death, followed by the original James Bond showing up and bitching about how wrong sex is. It had nothing to do with naming everyone in the secret service James Bond, and din't involve James Bond junior. Therefore can't really be considered based on the book.

NSNA is a different matter. It's closer to being a Bond film, but calling it a Bond film is like calling Gus Van Sants P{sycho as part of the Psycho series. It's not, and it never will be.

I never said the quality of the trailers was bad. I said that Chris said they were naff, ergo boring. It was a joke at Chris's expense.

As for the ML server, since you as yet have had no problems posting your trailers then that could explain it. Bender was posting his trailers in that webwhatever thing, and I was using Bittorrent which certain members of the forum didn't like. Maybe you could try asking the boss before jumping to assumptions.

    Hmmm... you have a point.

Still webspace can only run out. By the rate of me putting trailers on me friend's server, it'll soon be full. Either I invest on a 40GB drive on his PII server box, or ditch some of the old ones posted, or I go 'official' with M-L.

As for my conspiracy theories, as long as the boss keeps quiet, there's always the possibility that I may be right...

Untill you get word from JP, who could possibly be being quiet because he's offline, no way to be sure tho , I'd go with deleting older trailers. When I hosted trailers I didn't keep them up from more than a fortnight, but I'd say for an unnoficial trailer a month should be fine. Either that or the 40GB hard drive, just send me the money and I'll arrange it.:angel"

Actually, I'm thinking about the 40GB hard drive option. If M-L don't rid old trailers, I don't wanna rid old trailers either.

If someone brats about dead links it'll just take too much time & efforts to FTP those trailers offline again. Therefore I'd rather spend the dole (as an indirect competitor of M-L? Cos trailers that I really think that deserve a high-res QT treatment are seldom posted in either Classics or FE... Muhahahaha...)

Sorry I think I'm on 'tisoy mode' this morning.

One thing I have noticed about Bond films is that all of the official movies have one of two key identifyers. If the movie is based on an Ian Fleming novel, the credits on the poster/back of video/back of DVD say something like "Sean Connery is James Bond 007 in Ian Fleming's Goldfinger." If the movie is not based on one of Flemming's novels, then it reads something like "Pierce Brosnan is Ian Fleming's James Bond 007 in Die Another Day." Both of these obviously play tribute to Ian Fleming somewhere in a prominent position. I don't know about Casino Royale, but Never Say Never Again does not list Ian Fleming anywhere.

The whole thing with NSNA is there were co-authors for the script of Thunderball, and one of the authors believed that something in his contract gave him permission to use James Bond on his own, so he tried to start his own James Bond movie series starting with NSNA.

What do you mean I did not join the thread!? Read my first post. I said my favourite is OMHSS.

As for the rest, couldn't make up my mind. But here I go:

what is your favorite Bond film?
Told you before. Actually they're all good, except... maybe Licence to Kill & DAD.

    fav. Bond actor
They're all good, but least favourite's probably Dalton.

    best stunt/action scene?
They're all good, but least favourite's probably the one with Roger Moore skiing in front of blue screen. (Can't remember if it's For Your Eyes Only or A View To A Kill) Oh and the DAD blue screen stuffs too - fake!

    fav BAD Guy?
Blofeld (You Only Live Twice) & Boris (Goldeneye)

    fav Bond song?
The Living Daylights - Aha! I mean, aHa!

    fav Bond Girl?
Jane Seymour if I really have to pick one.

your fav movie for each actor?
    same as tisoy I guess

Alas, one only sees editman bitchin' about if one chooses to see me bitchin' about only.
