    Thumbs up ILM Short "Work in Progress" is back online

    the folks from industrial light & magic just put the cool cg short work in progress back online. it was over a year offline and now it's back. if you like cg shorts then you have to check it. it's really well made but what do expect from ilm

    This is a real good short, I downloaded it before it was taken off...

    It's a short story about 3 people who make creatures. If I remember correctly the characters are never named but there are three:

    The idea man: he comes up with the plan
    The mechanic: builds what the idea man wants
    The girl: You have to see her - what she adds. What she does.

    Without one person, nothing can happen. They have to work together - but it's the girl who makes the normal something special.

    Watch the movie - I think you'll see what they're getting at. It's wonderfully done.

    I've it, along with 90 of the 108 videos shown at Siggraph 2001, in MPEG-2. I downloaded them (~4GB) a while ago from the Internet Movie Archive, but unfortunatey this one and others have been offline for a couple of weeks.
