THE PASSION = "The Passion of Christ"

    http://www.latinoreview.com/

Mel Gibson’s film THE PASSION, about the depiction of the last 12 hours of Jesus of Nazareth's life, has changed its name. The official title of the movie has changed to "The Passion of Christ". Although the film is still struggling for a distributor, the goal is to release the film in US theaters on February 25, 2004. Also "James Horner" is not composing the film's soundtrack, instead it is rumored that the lead singer of the pop rock group, The Cranberries, is singing a song in Latin for the soundtrack.
    still no US distributor ?

    From imdb.com
The FBI and the U.S. attorney's office have launched an inquiry into how the New York Post obtained a print of Mel Gibson's The Passion of Christ, which it screened for a panel of five persons earlier this week, the Los Angeles Times reported today, citing three sources familiar with the matter. In its report, the Times described the print as "a bootlegged copy" and quoted a lawyer for Gibson as saying that a civil suit may be filed in the matter. The lawyer, George Hedges, told the newspaper: "Our biggest concern here is that a major media organization would become involved with pirates to concoct a news story to sell newspapers. ... For someone to feel the license to do this is just outrageous." Paramount COO Robert Friedman was also sharply critical of the Post, which is part of the News Corp family and therefore a corporate sibling of 20th Century Fox. "This is vigilante journalism," Friedman railed. "To get anybody's [movie] ... in a formative stage and steal it to review it is unconscionable."
As if the actual movie did enough controversy...

BTW, Newmarket also did Donnie Darko.

    Just to clear it up

NY Post - 25 cent newspaper that is basically a tabloid, don't ever believe anything they write, they exagerrate stories, seems like something htey would do

LA Times - is the newspaper that reported it

NY Times - is probably one of the best newspapers in the world, you will find false info in it maybe once a year
