This new Disney movie looks great. Watching my Lion King DVD has really got me in the mood for a good animated movie.

The website has some great clips from the movie. I think the moose look funny, but there is definitely more to the movie-- seems like a great story.

Brother Bear opens in wide release Saturday, Nov 1.

Can anyone remember a film that opened on a Saturday before? Seems like a fairly rare move - but I'm sure Brother Bear will do really well - it killed in its per screen average in NY and LA last week. Interesting to see what happens, if Bro Bear can hit number one in only two days.


I personally think it sounds like a fun movie - more of a traditional animation movie then the adult-focused CGI efforts of late. Although the moose will probably crack up the kids and the adults.
Can't wait to hear Michael Clarke Duncan's booming voice as a bear.

talented mr ripley opened on a saturday (christmas day).
i don't think it helps a movie, but i also think it doesn't hurt to open on a saturday.
only the numbers of the first two days will look more impressive, since all the people wanting to see it on opening weekend have only 2 days instead of 3.

This could be traditional animation's last stand... If this fails, it is likely that all other traditional animation films will fail in the future...

i think it'll flop.
it has extremely bad reviews, especially if you consider it's an animated movie by disney.
it has about 30% at rottentomatoes, all the pixar films have 99-100%.
