    your Vietnam War movie

i have recently fully seen Platoon (1986) , i saw it b4 when i was a kid but never understood it properly, but now i discovered why Oliver Stone is such a great director.

Platoon is indeed a very powerful movie and one that u would not doubt its sincerity (written and directed by a person who was in the WAR)

so my fav movies about the Vietnam WAR are

    1. Platoon (1986)
    2. Apocalypse Now (1979)
    3. We Were Soldiers (2002)

My favorite Vietnam movie is "Good Morning, Vietnam," but that might not count.

Another one that might not count is the original M*A*S*H movie (not the TV series, which I like also). Although they said the movie took place in Korea, the movie was made to look like it was taking place in Vietnam. Kind of a Vietnam protest film in disguise.

In case you haven't guessed, war movies don't do a lot for me, although I do like Tora Tora Tora and The Longest Day from WWII.

OK first of all Oliver Stone is not what I would call a true account of anything. He is known to REALLY exagerate everything he does. I mean "JFK" is like a work of fiction. Regardless Platoon reamins one of my favorites

According to my top 20 list here's how they rank

    11. Platoon
    12. Full Metal Jacket

I also liked Apocalypse Now a lot
