Thread: The Matrix - trailer (640x360)

I know for a fact that a 2:35:1 anamorphic source exists out there, so I wouldn't call this a definitive edition by any means

When are we going to drop this argument?

Psh no kidding. It's definitive for now.

Sup Mark, I'm a newbie here and these forums are awesome. Matrix is one of my favorites movies of all time and I just check out the trailer you encoded and it's by far the best one I've ever seen. So kudos for an awesome encoded!

i've made a comparison picture between the teaser, the trailer (anamorphic and non-anamorphic) and the movie from the new dvd box. all scenes are ntsc and not changed in any way.
the color bars are for the following sources...
teaser
trailer anamorphic
trailer non-anamorphic
movie
as you can see the picture is streched in some sources but that isn't an usual thing these days
as reference point for this comarison i used the pipe connection on the wall.

so the trailer is actually showing more picture ? ala open matte... I dont mind that.. it means it has more vertical resolution than normal... :-)

i've made a new pic in which i matched all sources together. this means all differences like stretching are gone. this will give you a much better view what was actually photographed during production and later matted for the final film on the new matrix dvd.

Even more so when it is a newbie who is telling a long-contributor that he is 'ripping a topic apart'.
