    Start Spreadin' The News...

I'm in NYC! For the next few days. Hells yeah! I'll be going to check out all the various tourist traps, but I might have forgotten stuff. I'll have pictures in a few days. In the meantime, any suggestions on where I should go/what I should do?

Definitely all the high rise builds. Views r just amazing Be sure to go during the week and not the weekend or holiday. Too many ppl. Always get some crappy mechandise. I got my "I survived the NY Blackout" t-shirt

Its a treat to just simply walk through the city but catch a yellowcab just to say you did. I DID!
Didn't see much and all I wanted since I was on business there but the ppl r very nice. Diversity was downtown. Great atmosphere but if its a hot day, DO NOT walk everything.

Take advice from someone who ahs lived in this hsithole for years. ACT LIKE A TOURIST, ask stupid questions, like "excuse me, where's Times Square" while standing in the middle of it. If you're a tourist three things can happen

1-people will act nice to you and actually be helpful

2- people will tell you to go back to where you came from

3- people will tell you to "go screw yourself" (and that's being nice)

Go to Manhattan ONLY, all the other boroughs have neither attractions nor any police force

If you want to save money, stay at a Holiday or COmfort INn, close to MAnhattan, they are much cheaper and are pretty cool, unless of course you want to pay the big bucks for a hotel in the city.
See the American Museum of NAtural HIstory, even if you hate museums this was is AWESOME, but you gotta spend half a day seeing it all (see the SPACE show but don't waste money on the IMAX movies or anything that you have to pay extra for (aside form the space show))
Take one of those small boat cruises around NYC, look for an inexpensive company, you might also want to check out the Intrepid Sea air space museum.
THere's lots of stuff to do but just ask me if you want any info like where stuff is

Oh, I forgot to add, BUY A MAP OF THE CITY and ask for a subway map down in the subway booth, also ask for help before that stupid map puts you 5 miles in the middle of nowhere
a credit card might be useful as well

Well.. did the natural history, and, yes, the space exhibit kicked ***. I saw SonicVision... that was cool. I played a tourist pretty well with my camcorder out at every opportunity, and the only dumb question I ever asked was if I could videotape stuff. The answer is always no, but if you just shoot, no one cares. Hailed a cab. Haven't done any skyscrapers... yet.

You would have to be clinically retarded to not know times square in the middle of it. There's nothing like that place on Earth.

I think I saw Claire Danes in the Virgin Megastore... and I saw some famous folks when I accidentally showed up up the premiere for the missing. Maybe it's just me, but north of times square seems to suck a lot more than south of it. Anyhoo... that's how me trip is going so far. I gotta get to bed, tomorrow should be a big day.

north of central park is Harlem, if you're more than 1/64th white, you don't want to go there without an armored car escort
