Tim and Johnny sitting in a tree...

Tim Burton, who will direct Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, told SCI FI Wire that he has no great love for the first film adaptation of Roald Dahl's children's book, 1971's Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. "I find [Willy Wonka] odd, because it's overly sweet when it shouldn't be, and it's really dark when it's really weird, so I found it to be almost exactly wrong in some ways," Burton said in an interview.

    ...

Warner Brothers plans to release Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in 2005.

I thought the Willy Wonka movie was fantastic... very surprised at Burton for his views...

I loved the film when I was young and having seen it not too long ago on TV, thought it was still great...

Up there with Wizard of Oz IMO...

Apparently Depp was quoted as saying he'd rather see Marilyn Manson play Wonka... but I'm less certain about that. I'd be happy either way.
    Are you a Mexi-CAN or a Mexi-CAN'T?
