    Site traffic

On an average day.. how many hits does this site recieve? What about on days like popular trailers come out, like on Matrix2 & 3 trailers or LotR trailers?

What a coincidence. I was just looking at the stats...

We're getting an average of about 150,000 pageviews per day now (on regular days).

    March 10, 2002:
    - Updated:
Star Wars, Episode 2: AOTC (Added Full Trailer).

    pageviews on the 10th: 334,310
    November 5, 2001:
Star Wars, Episode 2 (Added Teaser 1: Breathing).
    November 9, 2001:
Star Wars, Episode 2 (Added Teaser 2: Mystery).

    5th: 387,361
    9th: 394,674
    10th: 651,420
    12th: 800,301
I'm dying to get today's stats (which arent processed yet).
Our server load was way up today (meaning allot more users) because of the links we got on other sites (dark horizons, aint it cool, theonering, etc.)

Will update when I have it.

Most people come just for the trailers, and don't visit the forum. Which is okay.. after all, we're a 'trailers only' site.

How many peepz have subsribed to yr mailing list ?
Almost 5,000 but we don't promote it or use it very much yet.
Still figuring out the best way to handle it.

Impressive. True there are just leechers out there downloading stuff. I used to be like that but now contribute to sites that give out free stuff.

Does Movie-List have its own banners or advertisting @ other sites?

Yeah... Video-List is our sister site.

Other than that, not too much.
    There's a banner here:

    Feel free to use it.

This is not an argument to your post, but just a comment for those who don't know...

True, I've tried to keep the from being annoying as much as possible. And it would be nice if we could have sites with no banners at all.
But as sites get more popular, they also get more expensive to run.

You site is hosted on a free service right now. If it gets to be too popular (and expensive to host) it's very likely they'll boot you out, or ask you to pay.
With no ads, this money will come from your pocket. That's fine if it's a minimal cost, but as popularity grows, so does your cost.
It needs to come from somewhere.

Add to that, that the ad market is at a low point, and ads aren't paying very much. You may not even be able to break even.
You have to weigh the cost of hosting versus the revenue brought in.

    Makes for a tricky situation.
That's the reason for popups; larger banner ads; towers; etc. etc. They're new (and yes... more obtrusive), so they pay more.

Anyways... like I said. I'm not trying to rant. Just informing those who don't know.
The site is doing very well right now. I'm grateful I'm able to run it, (almost) full-time, and I'm very grateful to those who visit everyday.

I hope to be doing it, long into the future.
