    The return of James Cameron

    ...
his next movie will be a "big-budget science-fiction film with a pile of special effects" which Cameron will film using the 3D Reality Camera System he co-developed. Cameron wants to start filming this new picture sometime later this year.

    ...

He's been associated with a live-action version of the Japanese anime BATTLE ANGEL ALITA but we've also heard talk that he's wanted to do a movie about the first manned mission to Mars, grounding the movie as much in facts and proposed scientific concepts as possible. With President Bush recently announcing the hopes to for America to return to the moon and then voyage to Mars, did that spur Cameron to make a decision?

For those ppl that don't know (still), Dark Angel was Cameron's test basis the Battle Angel Alita idea. Now... I better hope he can make a live action as great as the anime/manga.

About damn time he jumped back into the mix.

After all, who can get bigger budgets for movies than Cameron?

Nothing since Titanic really.....he needs to blow us away with some new material

She's just too pretty for Hollywood. I don't know, put her in a glass box and display her at the Metropolitan Museum of Art or something. - Jake on the topic of Scarlett Johansson.

Looks like Alita will be 100% CG. The movie promises loads and loads of blood but it will be all blue :|

I have mixed feeings about the movie but the theme and emotional level of the manga is huge. The anime was amazing in this so lets see if the movie can do that justice.
