The Passion of the Christ" was the top film for a third straight weekend, taking in $31.7 million and pushing its total beyond a quarter of a billion dollars.
Mel Gibson's dramatization of Christ's final hours climbed to $264 million in the United States and Canada after 19 days in theaters, according to studio estimates Sunday.
With solid receipts expected through Easter on April 11, "The Passion" is on track to gross between $350 million and $400 million, said Rob Schwartz, head of distribution for Newmarket Films, which handled the release.

This is nuts hehe.... friends of mine was saying things like "This movie will flob big time" and "Mel Gibson is going to regreat he did this" and then it ends up in the 250 Million Plus club.....
I for one cant waith to se this film... it will open in my country in 17 days and im counting the minuts

best film nomination for sure... you can tell what movie is going to dominate the oscars next year..
i havent seen it.. and dont plan too.. if i want a history lesson i'll watch the discovery channel.. i go to the cinema to be entertained not to fall asleep.

You won't fall asleep. Grossed out, horrified, disgusted ... these reactions all come to mind. Not sleep. I know it all happened, but I'm not sure I needed to actually see it. Man's inhumanity is not something I need so graphically displayed. However, my mom wanted to see it, and we went. It's been a long time since I had to turn my head from the screen of any movie. I did on this one.

Even Mel Gibson told Jim Caviezel that he may never work in Hollywood again after this film... Looks like he's gonna be getting even more offers based not only on his box office draw now that he's a familiar name, but his acting talent...
