    There isn't an accurate answer to this. Sometimes I download MPEG-2s that are worse than MPEG-1s. There's much of capturing into this process, and then much to the encoder, as you already know

    But if it were for me, I would definitely download the highest quality available, so long as I can play it back, whatever its size was.

    And this is something I've always been doing even when I was on dial-up. I rest for no second choices.

    i voted for svcd

    its my favorite format, because i can burn them onto cd's / dvd's for my dvd-player without having to convert them and the quality is pretty ok for me

    DivX/XviD all the way... a full music video is about 50mb in this format and looks great... the perfect match betwen qualaty and size...

    Higher the quality the better. I enjoy watching and dancing to the videos as long as I can see them clearly.

    SVCD is IMO slightly a little too big format.

    u get the best quality on small sizes :-)

    i actually prefer everything on mpeg4/divx :-)
