    Scream 3 - New Guiboche Fan Trailer

    Hey all! :big grin:

    Here's my latest efforts into the genré of fan made trailer editing (if that even is a genré

    This time comes a full trailer for the movie Scream 3.

    Some notes on the trailer:

    - The sequence beginning 33 seconds into the trailer is a homage to the <A HREF="http://www.movie-list.com/s/scream2.shtml">Scream 2</A> trailer.
    - The sequence beginning at 53 seconds is a homage to the full <A HREF="http://www.movie-list.com/s/scream3.shtml">Scream 3</A> trailer.
    - The ending film flipping/burn effect was inspired by the full <A HREF="http://www.movie-list.com/trailers.php?id=dawnofthedead">"Dawn of the Dead"</A> trailer, and as well, the full trailer for <A HREF="http://www.movie-list.com/n/nightmareonelmstreet7.shtml">"Wes Craven's New Nightmare</A> (and not to forget Gremlins 2 either

    <IMG SRC="http://www.movie-list.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=1712&stc=1">

    Anyhow, download the trailer if you wish, and thanks again to JP (you know him, the cool dude who runs this place and Dan "R0B0DAN" for many helps and tips he gave along the way :big grin:

    So here's the trailer already :big grin:

    Pretty dang cool! This actually makes me want to get in line again and watch the movie! This is by far the best of ALL the Scream trailers, be it theatrical or not! Please, please, please - finish them off! Do Scream and Scream 2! You really have a gift for editing trailers!

    Amazing

    That was AMAZING. The best one I've seen you do yet!
    Seriously... if this was used in the actual marketing campaign, I would have praised it. The fact that it's fan-made, makes it that much better!

    Congrats!

    wow, cool trailer, how you do that film burn at the end?

    as usual crap movies get cool trailers....hahaha

    you should make a "comedy" trailer coz this one shows it as if it's a "serious" movie...lol

    damn i recently saw this movie and I already forgot the killer... was it the mother?

    Hey! This movie isn't that crappy. And the first 2 Scream movies where good

    And for the record, the film burn effect isn't a plugin (because a few people asked/assumed it was

    The film burn effect was done all inside After Effects. The "film flipping" was achieved by randomizing the "Directional Blur" filter vertically and flipping the video using the "Offset" filter. The actual burn itself is a combination and mixture of fractal noise and displacement mapping. "Cuastics" simulation filter was used to bend/push/bulge the film as though it were burning up. After about 7 layers later of sampling, displacing, fractal adjusting, this is what you get:

    <IMG SRC="http://www.movie-list.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=1715&stc=1">

    And then you watch it burn! :big grin:

    Talking

    Man....did this trailer suck, or what!!!!! Totally unbelievable. Not enough Knife Thrusts! Pfft! What a waste!

    Hahaha, well....all (bad) jokes aside. Out-freakin-standing my good man. I couldn't have done it better myself (nor would I ever be able to). You sly devil you...you make me want to watch these damn movies now! Ugh...can you believe it...marketing that actually worked on me! Holy Freakin Hell! Great work my friend! Makes it seem like the "Know-all, end-all" trailer for the Scream series!

    You mean you didn't join to talk to all the cool people in here. Boohoo

    As for that effect, I did it in After Effects.

    But I can't give you a personal tutorial on it. Since I get ask this question A LOT. And I mean A LOT. (my inbox gets a "how did you do this" every second day).

    I will say that I used CC Film Burn to create a back and white film burn effect. That doesn't actually burn the edges, but transitions the image based on expanding soft edge circles.

    I used that to transition the image to black. Then I used displacement mapping and caustic effects to get the edges to bubble and move. I then added orange/red to the edge using Colorama.

    Hope that helps a bit

    Later

    Of coures. Jay and Silent Bob are in the movie
    <hr siz=1>
    Well, to date I've made these:

    From newest to oldest:

    <B>Scream 3</B>: Current Trailer

    <B>Child's Play 2</B>: I didn't like the trailer at all. it's available at <A HREF="http://www.fanmadetrailers.com"><B>FanMadeTrailers</B></A>

    <B>Mortal Kombat: Annihilation</B>: One of my bests. It to is available on Movie-List. <A HREF="http://www.movie-list.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8302"><B>Click here</B></A>. Scroll down for "Redux Edit."

    <B>In The Mouth of Madness</B>: Another one of my favourites. A teaser trailer that is too available on Movie-List. <A HREF="http://www.movie-list.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7214&highlight=mouth+madness"><B>Click here</B></A>.

    <B>Species</B>: This was my best trailer during the time of it's first release, but I feel it has shown it's age. Plus, I was still editing 100% in After Effects. Very conterproductive . Movie-List has this deep in their forum archive too. <A HREF="http://www.movie-list.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5633&highlight=species+fan+trailer"><B>Click here</B></A>.

    <B>Resident Evil: Apocalypse</B>: A experimental All-Graphic teaser. It's not available online anymore.

    <B>Halloween: Resurrection</B>: This trailer wasn't bad when it was released, but I don't like it at all anymore.

    <B>Halloween: Revelations</B>: Another experimental All-Graphic teaser. It's not available online anymore.

    <B>Halloween 4</B>: Even though this was only my second Fan Made Trailer, I believe it is still one of my bests. Not available online anymore.

    <B>Run Lola Run</B>: My first venture into Fan Made Trailer editing. Though more of a montage then an actual trailer, it was a fun little edit that help me learn the evil program know as Adobe Premiere (I was still editing with Media100 at the time.)

    That'd be all of them :big grin:
