    The Silencer

The Silencer is about narcotics officer Michael Eastland, played by Glenn Salvage, who is shot and framed for involvement with a local drug baron. Later, he awakens from a coma with a reconstructed spine, no sensation of pain and a damaged voice box that has left him a mute. To make matters worse his wife has moved in with one of his former colleagues due to financial complications. Michael must choose between the temptation of ending his own ruined life with a bullet or finding out who framed him and to see that they're brought to justice.

Why do all low budget action movies need motorcycle helmets?
Sgt. Johnny Beaufort: He says, "The Apaches are a great race," sir. "They've never been conquered. But it is not well for a nation to be always at war. The young men die... the women sing sad songs... and the old ones are hungry in the winter."

Maybe theres only one stuntman and to trick their audience (13 year olds who got a blind $5 buy) they have him wear a helmet :O But It has to be shiney and black or it wont work.

Actually it's because it's a homage to low budget action movies of the eighties and the character can't be identified due to him leading a double life.

For the record we have quite a few stunt people!
