For some reason this really impressed me...

Usually when you send an email to a television network, it's like sending it into a big void. Maybe someone will read it if you're lucky, and if you're really lucky, it's not some intern who will just scrap it. And if you're unbelievably lucky, you might get a response within a few weeks or even months.

I was really liking HDNet's Sunday morning airings of Smallville. They had started playing the show from the first episode many times a week, but I missed the original airing so I was outta the loop. Then, I noticed they had started playing it from the first episode again, 2 episodes at a time every Sunday morning. This has been going on for about three weeks now, but I was paranoid that since it's such an odd timeslot, they could easily change it to something else and I'd be out in the cold. So I decided to send them an email about how happy I am with this scheduling. Check this out:

Hey,
I'd just like to say I really appreciate your Sunday morning airings
of Smallville from the first episode 2 ep. at a time. I missed your
original airing so this is allowing me to keep up at a nice pace.
Thanks and keep up the great work!

Hi Mark-

Thanks for taking the time to write!

We're happy that you're enjoying Smallville and will also send this note
to our programming group so that they know that they're scheduling
choices are working well for you.

Thanks again and please feel free to contact us with any other questions
or comments.
Not 15 min. later they actually responded to my email (and it wasn't an auto response either). Very nice... they've just made a loyal viewer even more loyal. (This also happens to be the channel where I get all my HD trailers from.)
