The Wolfman - 2/5.
Boring - a major let-down. It's a shame, too; I was really looking forward to it. I do like a good horror movie... but that wasn't it.
I'll be seeing The Crazies next when it comes out on the 26th, 'cuz I'll need something to "cleanse the palette". I might try and track down the original George Romero version of The Crazies on DVD too, now that I think about it - I haven't seen it in years, but I remember loving it when I was a kid.

I saw the trailer to Wolfman and I said: "Naaaah"
didn't appeal to me and I do like Werewolves movies

I actually liked the trailer OK - if only the movie had lived up to it. I was actually excited about February coming into this month, because you had 3 horror movies opening 3 weekends in a row, with The Wolfman on the 12th, Shutter Island on the 19th, and The Crazies on the 26th. Now I'm a little let down, because Wolfman and Crazies were the big two I was looking forward to (I'll still see Shutter Island, but it's a distant third - not wild about Leo in the trailer) - I've still got high hopes for The Crazies to wrap things up, but Wolfman ruined the horror streak before it started this month.

The last movie I saw was The Hangover. Very. Funny. Movie.
When watching, I'm getting to the point where I'm that annoying person that starts giggling before the punch line.

Memento, by Christopher Nolan.
It is more "The Prestige" than "Batman Begins" but certainly in my top 200 of all time. {I gave up with my top 100 about ten years ago when I simply couldn't get it down below 125.]
It actually required three viewings: one to simply sit and be stunned with the developments as they unfolded or folded as it were. A second to overcome that sense of "what the #%$@$# just happened? and a third, much later to analyze it as a motion picture.
I have no idea how well it did when released, I missed it then. But it sure has developed a strong following, rather cult like, since.
Great film

Green Zone - 5 / 5
I really hope people aren't going to see this thinking it's the next Jason Bourne movie. While there is some action sequences, the last one being brilliant, this is not an action movie. It's a thriller and an excellent one at that. This is a Paul Greengrass movie so be warned. The camera moves and there are some quick cuts. I personally am not bothered by this style and find it to be very immersive.
I didn't find the film to be anti-war or anti-military as most of the films that have come out about Iraq seem to be. One of the things that stuck with me is the last line spoken by the character Freddy. It's very true what he says and perhaps speaks to US foreign policy. Like what Spielberg did with Munich, Greengrass uses the final shot to send a message and put things in perspective. The only thing I was surprised about by this was the fact that the shot isn't very long and I just wonder how many might not get it.
On a side note, I said to myself that one of the actors, the one that plays the lead Special Forces character, looks a lot like Jason Issacs not realizing that it was in fact him. I got a good laugh when I saw his name in the closing credits, he wasn't recognized-able.You're waiting for a train, a train that will take you far away. You know where you hope this train will take you, but you can't be sure. But it doesn't matter - because we'll be together.
