Out of the Furnace (2013)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1206543
Terrible! Absolutely Terrible!
The 2 and 1/2 minute trailer was better than the sum of the entire 2 hour movie put together.
The writers had a good idea but they just couldn't deliver with a script that just kept dragging on and on!
Furthermore, you are supposed to feel compassion for the characters and frankly me dear, after almost 1 hr into the film, I didn't give a damn anymore what, if anything, happened to any of them.

Ender's Game (2013)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1731141
I read the book and I loved it.
I think them movie falls real short and many of the characters and talented young actors and young actresses were wasted.

Just rewatched Forrest Gump for the 100th times.
After almost 20 years, Forrest Gump is still the most moving and saddest movie I'd ever seen in my entire life.
It's also #1 on my personal Top 10 Best movies list.
Why is Forrest Gump such a great film??

The Monuments Men (2014)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2177771
This movie could had been great and instead it was a let down.
The exposition of it was just too erratic.
Look! 2 of the Monuments Men are over here! 2 of the other Monuments Men are over there.
One minute they are in Paris. Then in Belgium. Then back in France, oh wait!
I think it's Germany now!
Boy, they sure travel fast from point to point considering there is a full scale world war going on as if (except for one scene that showed it) they never ran into retreating Nazi troops during their travels across Western Europe.
It could had used better editing and a little longer running time for more concise and seamless story telling!

Thor: The Dark World
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1981115/
I can't recommend it.
Not as fun and fresh as the first one.
Even Natalie doesn't seem excited to see Thor anymore.
In the first film, you'd think she was O in her panties each time Thor appeared.
In this one she was more like "Blah! It's you again?"
Hottie Vixen Warrior Jaimie Alexander is totally wasted in this and Kat Dennings looks too domesticated.

The Last Days on Mars (2013)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1709143/
Gee whiz.... how many movies did this predictable, cliche ridden, piece of trash copied?
Let me start a list: Alien, Zombie movies, more Alien movies, Species, more Zombie movies, every pandemic movie you can name, every Mars movie you can think of, Prometheus, oh don't forget The Thing, and....
... hey, where you going?
I am not even halfway down the list!

47 Ronin (2013)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1335975/
According to Japanese history, this is a true story but in the true story, there was no 'half-breed' (quoting the movie) Keanu Reeves in it.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forty-seven_Ronin
Hollywood always like to be historically inaccurate and yet they tell you at the beginning of each one of their 'historical' movie that it is based on a true story or it is a true story.
Akira Kurosawa got to be rolling in his grave!

Telefon (1977)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0076804
I saw this movie in 1977 and I thought it was cool.
Now it just looks cheesy and dated.
The final scene set on the overpass over the main highway is so absurd!
A telephone booth right there, encroaching into the lane of traffic?

Jagten aka The Hunt (2012)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2106476/
I have children of my own and this kind of movie pisses me off.
Not because of the subject matter.
Sure, there are pedophiles out there.
Sure when a child makes accusations of being sexually abused you can't ignore it.
But the characters in this film took the dubious words of a little girl with a vivid imagination who has an older dumb ass brother who showed her Porn;
and then they put words in her mouth by asking her questions she didn't understand the consequences of answering untruthfully;
and then they blew everything out of proportion and they made their own conclusions without even calling the Police and letting them handle it and investigate it.
It's scary how can one lie or rumour can snowball so quickly to ruin an innocent person's reputation and life!
One of the most harrowing films I've seen recently along with last year's "Prisoners".

I never cared for John Wayne.
I think he is a poor actor who became popular by sheer luck only because at the time of his popularity, what he made was the best the movie industry had to offer.
If you pay attention to his westerns, most of them are the same story and theme, just the name of the characters and location have been changed.
Call him the Duke or whatever you want to call him.
I think he is a wimp and an actor who doesn't even take his own work and roles seriously!

Brannigan (1975)

I am not a big John Wayne's fan but I think those 2 films are the only times he played a cop in a modern city and they are not set in the West.
I think he was trying to be a blue collar worker's Dirty Harry.
The Green Berets (1968)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0063035/
2/5
An Ironic Anti-War movie by John Wayne, considering how many movies he has been where he is killing Indians and the U.S. Army and U.S. Calvary is portrayed as the ultimate bastion of justice and truth and the messenger of America and Christianity!
Did he get a conscience toward the end of his career?
He is also so very wooden in this film!
There are American soldiers dying around him left and right, front and back.
The North Vietnamese regulars are storming the firebase.
John Wayne just over and over nonchalantly as if he is ordering a cup of coffee says: "Move Out."
So unrealistic.
Even after one of his best soldiers gets killed by a vertical rack of punji sticks,
John Wayne says: "Move Out."
Leave the poor soul up there and not even cut him down and take his body with them.
So much for Green Berets' motto of don't leave anyone behind.
