trailer 2
i saw this movie again (Directors CUT) a few months ago and thought we should talk about it here at ML
Blade Runner is a great detective story/noir/sci-fi film !!! (in my top 10 films of all time)
IMO it has an engaging story which managed to encompass both action and emotion, some first rate acting (especially Ford and Hauer) and the visuals! the VISUALS .... it’s unbelievable that in 1982 we were achieving visual effects that often top some of the CGI used today. It may be very slow, very slow to some people but to me the philosophical themes in this movie and the visuals simply kept me interested. and just to add the soundtrack made by Vangelis is simply one of of the best..
and its also one of the best CYBER PUNK movie ever made
btw, which do u prefer, the DC or the theatrical Cut ?
and would a remake be good?
and i want the 3 disc DVD !!1
ohhhh and to Guiboche, Robodan or Mark.... fan made trailer would be great .. pls

Give me the original over the Directors cut any day. The voice over simply oozes style, and makes the film tenser. It's a terriffic film either way though, one of the best science fiction movies ever made. Damn Daryl Hannah is sexy.

Ditto, for me .. I absolutely love this film! It's on my top 10 list too. The atmosphere throughout the picture is eery (the endless downpour outside) and dark. The acting is top-notch. The story is ultra-cool. When I think of this flic I always seem to think of that scene where Ford wallups Hauer across the face with a plumbing pipe, and Hauer shakes his head, breaks a grin and says ".. that's the spirit!"
I'd love to see an ultimate super-duper release DVD of this one and to echo tisoy, trailer rips (fan or otherwise) would be very nice to see here at ML!

Great Movie...When ever I think of Blade Runner I think of the scene when Harrison gets his fingers broken, The scream combine with the cracking of bones always sends a chill down my spine

ShareReactor just publish this version:
Note: This was ripped from the Criterion Laserdisc, meaning it is the original European theatrical release, which is more explicit/violent than the original American version and features the narrative voice-over by Deckard.

BTW why is this thread posted in Movie-Related General Chatter instead of Trailer News, considering there's trailer links in the first post???

because trailer news is for posting a trailer and people can go "Oh how nice a trailer", but this thread is for discussing the movie Blade Runner and so the trailers have been included as a part of the movies information.
Besdes Chris did post trailer links in this thread's first post so I reckon this should go to Trailer News... Just because this thread has intellectual discussion doesn't mean it shouldn't be moved to Trailer News?
Maybe I should make a 'pointer'/redirect thread in the Trailer News section to this thread, otherwise some Trailer News loiterers may overlook the links in this thread...
EDIT: No wonder this is not posted in Trailer News, for these are not threatical trailer at all!... At least the Sci-Fi Channel commercial is definitely not... (haven't DL the 'director's cut trailer' yet.)Last edited by editman; 08-14-2003 at 07:53 AM.
