Disney develops Toy Story sequels
According to New York Newsday, Disney's chief executive, Michael Eisner said that Walt Disney Pictures is working on two new sequels for Toy Story. “We’re doing two Toy Stories at once,” Eisner said.
Toy Story which was released in 1995, and 1999’s Toy Story 2 were blockbuster film and merchandising hits for Pixar Animation Studios and Disney. But their partnership is ending after two more flicks, giving Disney the right to make more sequels to its previous films.
A spokeswoman for Disney said: “They’re working on different story ideas with the hopes there will be a Toy Story 3 and another after that.”
Cooool toy Story 1 and 2 are 2 of my best movies hope they will do a good job

I was reading somewhere recently that Michael Eisner says that under his leadership Disney doesn't need Pixar and that Disney will achieve success with CG animation whether or not Pixar is with them or not. Eisner also says within Five years from now expect for Disney to be the only studio producing successful CG animated films.

All Disney has to do is create original ideas, then they could equal if not surpass Pixar... I think Disney is pretty much screwed for now... now that they have to compete against Pixar...

Any word on wether this is planned for theatrical release or video?
The way Disney has been going lately, I would guess the latter.

well Disney does not have to compete against Pixar. Disney has to compeate with Pixar, 20th Centery Fox, Dreamworks and possably the Warners becasue Warner bros. have been known to put out a very good animated film every now and then. Basically Disney has to compeate with everyone who has a orginal marketable idea and can hire a team of animators to pull it off. In my opinion Disney is not this god like being anymore that has a iron grip on the animation industry any more is it is slowly loosing it power. Also I think films like Shrek are like a slap in Disney's face were it says "we might not as big as you but we can do this better than you" so in the long run I think Disney will for some reason will be fighting a loosing battle
