New try at Doom
<IMG SRC="http://www.cinescape.com/multimedia/Master_Site/Games/Master_SiteGames291108.jpg" BORDER="0">
After Warner Bros. attempted to make a DOOM movie a reality nearly two years ago, Universal Pictures has stepped up and purchased the film rights to id Software's legendary first-person shooter video game. The same producers that tried to get the film greenlit at Warners remain on the project with Universal, namely Lorenzo Di Bonaventura and John Wells. What's changed is that the two men now have a finished script (by Dave Callaham), a new studio and a director attached (Enda McCallion in his directorial debut.)
Callaham adapted his version of DOOM from the upcoming storyline of DOOM 3, the latest video game in the franchise scheduled for release next month. The third game reimagines the property using the latest computer graphics technology and advanced game engines to deliver more of a survival horror feel rather than the all-out carnage that the first two DOOMs became known for.
Dont really see this ending up as a good movie, but there could be some cool special effects atleast"A celibate clergy is an especially good idea, because it tends to suppress any hereditary propensity toward fanaticism." / Carl Sagan

And then they could save the money of the VFX and just use video-caps from the game!
-
please make this movie SCARY with the added gore. Doom3 is going to be a brown pants wearing game and the previous Doom's were split second scary in the moment.

Oh great!!! Another one of those "it could have been an awesome sci-fi horror flick that scares the crap out of you, but ended up being a dumbed down PG-13 action kiddie flick ie AVP!!!"
Bet Paul Anderson or Piss-off, I mean Pitoff, would have done this flick if he could have. lol

a doom movie has potential, but certificate ratings always get the better of movies.
-
certificate ratings wont be a problem, there only one rating doom could have, and thats an 18, But i think it will quite a big hit
In the year of our Lord 1314
patriots of Scotland
starving and outnumbered
charged the fields at Bannockburn
They fought like warrior poets
They fought like Scotsmen
And won their freedom

also The rock isnt playing the lead hunter, its Karl Urban who is the lead man
-
as long as it doesn't have too bad effects.
-
well when there spending over $100million on it, it should most likely have good effects
-
yeah, hopefully it will have a good bunch of monsters from the game that will look half decent.

Andrzej Bartkowiak
Uh oh isnt this the guy who did Exit Wounds and Romeo Must Die?Sgt. Johnny Beaufort: He says, "The Apaches are a great race," sir. "They've never been conquered. But it is not well for a nation to be always at war. The young men die... the women sing sad songs... and the old ones are hungry in the winter."

Pity that with all that monet they can't get a few big acting names.
-
well Karl Urban is coming up in the world of hollywood now, the Rock, hes gonna be asking for big bucks, also who else could they get for the lead, they need someone who is big not only in physical size but mentally, someone with attitude, who beter than Karl urban, he just looks mean, and the rock would have been good, he has the attitude from his wrestling days, mind u it might end up as the rock ghimself, lol
