Grindhouse "missing reels"??

Personally i think the whole idea of having missing reels is retarted, its 2007 not 1930s!! I was reading that these "missing reels" were 20 minutes long.WTFFFFF
20 Minutes of nothing, sounds like a waste of money. Can Anyone confirm this, 20 minutes seems like a long time.

I was trying to find spoilers about what the missing scenes were, does anyone k now what was cut from the film for these stupid movie ruining "missing reels"????

Even though this pisses me off, ill still be there opening NIGHT.

Grindhouse has a bunch of trailers that may or may not all be shown. I'd imagine those would appear in any DVD's.

Also, there will be some scenes cut out of the American version of the film and shown elsewhere. For example, one scene shows Vanessa Ferlito's lap dance on Kurt Russell, but in the American version, you'll just see "Missing Reel" across the screen.

WOW, That is SO ridiculous. ....

they are coming up with all kind of gimmicks to get your money twice:

once at the box office; once at the video store!!

Have you heard what's happening outside the UK and US? Splitting the film into the two component movies and releasing them a month apart?

That's really stretching the money making and screaming for pirates to get at the film.

Huh, month appart, I wish ....we have to wait 3MONTHS!!!! here!
As for DVDs, it gets released as two DVDs too and even funnier thing is:

And then, closer to the end of the year - though this might slip into 2008 easily - the two films will be reissued. Still not in a joint package. The idea this time is that these will be faux Criterion releases, loaded to the gills with extra features and blessed with 'remastered prints'. Simply put, the films are going to be colour graded 'properly' and all of the scratch and flicker effects will be turned off. And at least one of the missing reels will be reinstated.

As for missing reels > its not gonna b like 20mins of dark, man! Its just that the story skips 20mins, so instead of bullshi* talks you get right in the middle of action. Tho its kinda funny. It´ll just skip, jump somewhere else, not that there´s gonna b 20mins of blank, lol

20 min. of missing reels??? Yeah right like that's gonna happen, where did you hear such bull, I bet you can't show us an official link proofing that silly claim. You know I recently heard a rumor on the net that Tarantino actualy was a woman in the past and that Rodriguez was his lover, don't believe everything you hear.... especially things that sound waaaay too rediculous to be true.

well there IS to be missing twenty minutes of story. on purpose. it is true Jax. its just not gonna b dark 20minutes, but skip of them, as I wrote, which means it wont affect length of film. Rodrigueze (well I think, or T, doesnt really matter now) thought it might b cool makin it look like in old cinema, where the reel just burned. So there´ll b skip of 20 minutes of story and it´ll jump right into the action

Just got back from seeing it (fantastic btw) and each movie has a missing reel in it.

Planet Terror - The reel burns during the love scene and then a message stating that there's a missing reel with an apology from theatre management. It only lasts a couple of seconds but the effect is really well done.

Death Proof - As been stated, Butterfly's lap dance is cut. In fact before DP even starts, there's a message stating that there could be missing reels.

Because of bad BO succes, GH is gonna get rereleased in US in two separated movies. Not only that - rest of the world will get the film separated too -even tho it was told otherwise-. Including Australia, UK, Europe .... everywhere.
Well....at least we aint alone
