scary movies
okay so I thought Final Destination 2 was cool. I liked all the special effects that went into it and the death scenes were very gory and very cool.
But usually I like movies that are a little less on the gross out and more on the creepy/scary factor.
So what do we have on the horizon for that?
I saw the trailer for Identity and I think this one looks like a winner. Totally creepy and mysterious. And thank goodness they didn't give the whole thing away in the trailer like so many other movies.

Well the trailers for:
Below
Darkness Falls
Dreamcatcher and
They
Might be worth checking out to see if they scare ya
My pick though would be Dreamcatcher... it looks pretty edgy!

Here are my top 3 fav scary movies:
1.) The Shining

3.) The Thing
But the only really scary movie coming up that I would see is Dreamcatcher.

That's slasher movies, not really horror movies?

scary spice? Anyway, my fave scare-ish movies are:
1)Signs
2)6th Sense(although it really wasn't that scary)
3)Scream
As for what's coming up... Dreamcatcher looks incredibly good. Identity... meh. I might catch it for John Cusack, but that's about it. Hmm, and other than those two there isn't much on the horizon worth noting.

I don't know how many people read the book Dreamcatcher, but in my opinion, it isn't really that scary. Of course, I have a hard time being scared by a book, but the story sort of stops being scary maybe a third of the way through. Just sort of changes genres or something.

I dunno. I find books sometimes scarier than movies because they get inside your head more and there is more use of your own imagination and "what ifs."
I didn't read Dreamcatcher though. Didn't hear many good things about it and am kinda iffy on the movie.
So far Identity is the big one on the horizon for me. I wish April 25th would hurry up and get here.
Alfred Molina has signed on to play a villian in Spiderman 2... I wonder if he played a/the bad guy in Identity and Sam Raimi liked what he saw?

I just saw The Ring (the Japanese one) and it's really good. Haven't seen the American version yet.

If you're looking for a bigger jump, you can pretty much skip the remake. It won't be as scary as the original.
If you, however, are curious about the subtle differences between the original and its almost-exact remake, give it a go.

I think I'd like to check out the Japanese version of The Ring. I bummed it isn't playing in a theatre though. Movies are so much scarier when you see them in the theatre.
The original Donnie Darko is playing at an indie house near me... think thats worth checking out?
Saw the Identity website the other day and its really good. I love the way they used the flash. Can anyone help me out in figuring what the numbers (1-10) are supposed to mean? I'm wondering if they are hints to how each person gets killed?

Actually you may get more scared watching The original Ring on video, fitting into the context of the plot. Just don't go nuts and think you'll die after watching, that's all...
