LOTR: Return of the King (posters & trailers news)
Quote:
LOTR: Return of the King: Russian Themes recently ran an article revealing the marketing campaign for the third fantasy feature. "The first of a series characters of the posters is supposed to start in middle of June. On first of them will be represented Aragorn. Then approximately monthly begin to occur the working posters with other characters. The cinemas will or replace already hanging posters with everyone by subsequent creative, or, that is more probable, will collect all collection down to autumn. Teaser Trailer - The short trailer prepares for start in middle summer. From the point of view of general campaign of representation of film it is important, that it differed from impression made by a working trailer of "Two Towers". Final Poster - Idea in connecting all teasers together and to connect them in a final one-sheet, which will appear at the end of autumn. On the final poster there will be no so many characters, as it was on last poster of "Two Towers". Final Trailer - Full-length the final trailer with special effects for the first time will appear in September pasted to copies of "Secondhand Lions"". Thanks to 'Mark'.

Official Teaser ROTK Poster & Desktop!
New teaser poster and desktop pic now available from the official LOTR website. I guess this is the first one of the character posters as quoted above. Hopefully we'll soon get to see a teaser .. I suppose that mid-summer means July or something?!

Can't wait to see it! December 17th sounds so far off at this point.

Thanks for the news ZUBi & Rufus. So it's starting: posters, desktops, teasers, trailers...I'm happy.

Something interesting about the ROTK poster (only for the big LOTR fans):
Quote:
from www.theonering.net
"I'm sure many out there already know this information, but a few of you will probably look at the inscription on Anduril from the Teaser poster and wonder what it says - and maybe wonder if it's the same as the inscription on Narsil.
I recently got in touch with elvish expert David Salo and asked him.
I showed him a blown up version of the image above of Aragorn with Anduril, and asked if he could try and translate it.
He replied: I can make out on the right hand side "...l meletya telchar" and the whole inscription should start on the left-hand bottom of the triangle.
This is part of the full inscription, which reads: "Narsil essenya macil meletya; Telchar carneron Navarotesse" (My name is Narsil, a mighty sword; Telchar made me in Nogrod).
There's also a full translation and explanation of the characters inscribed on Narsil (and other weapons used in LoTR) on Elvish.org here."
|
Small explanation from The Encyclopedia of Arda:
"The Sword of Elendil, forged by Telchar of Nogrod in or before the First Age. The sword was broken in Elendil's fall at the Siege of Barad-dur, and its Shards became an heirloom of his heirs throughout the Third Age until it was reforged as Anduril and borne by Aragorn II Elessar in the War of the Ring."
