ok ok... i promise this is my last dvd .. "retail dvd".. ever  .. i simply could not resist the 4€ price tag 
and I now promise to myself.. .to stop buying DVDs and start saving money for HD

well, i was wrong - the dvd is not the fixed one as it still has the stupid closed captions. stupid dreamworks 
the v4 was only on the security sticker and not on the cover spine. so if your dvd doesn't say v4 on the spine you have the faulty one. |

I was gonna say this a long time ago: frankly I don't mind if I'm getting the closed captions version. From time to time when I watch a DVD I always switch on the English subs, most of the time (particularly with old Universal DVDs) are CCs. So it doesn't really bother me if I can 'see' [ Heavy Breathing ] on screen while reading the subs cos I got used to it.
That said, I'm contemplating whether to cancel my order of the 2-pack. The only reason I ordered this is that the 2-pack's price lower than the single Innocence R1 DVD. I own Millennium Actress on R2 and the movie comes with subs but not the making-of. I wanna watch Innocence finally with subs some day, but maybe I should just wait a few years when Innocence's price comes down even lower...

i don't like cc but i have no problems if they are on the disc when there are also real subs too. sure you can say better then nothing but i still prefer clear subtitles  |

This wouldn't be an issue at all if the R2J had included English subs. But no, Dreamworks (aka Universal) screwed that up (probably they put that no sub on R2J DVD on the distribution deal to prevent parallel importing) and they then screwed up the R1 release (both theatrical with literally no publicity, and the DVD).
Ahhh... good ol' Universal. Never failed to be the scapegoat.

When you're at it, IGT, you may also wanna add that the R3HK DVD includes a censored version of the film's trailer with burnt-in traditional Chinese subtitles.

I'm personally awaiting the english dub for GitS2. The first is fantastic so they could only make a good one for this movie too.
Also alot more features included.

I've watched this DVD the night I got it (the day the DVD came out) and the next night too.
And that's after seeing the movie 5 times in the theatre. I LOVE IT SOO MUCH!!
