B&K, a well respected US manufacturer has devised a clever and very effective way to rid your system of troublesome accoustical problems. One might ask, how you know if you have such a problem. The simple solution is the Radio Shack SPL measuring device and a test DVD such as Avia’s home theater calibration disk. So now you found the culprit, that particular frequency range that is vibrating a ceiling tile or an overwhelming thud that drives you crazy. What do you do now? Well, B&K has incorporated notch filters in there product line. For correcting the room resonance, you can select up to three different frequency ranges and fine tune your system to sound better then you ever thought possible. After calibrating our system, huge improvements of the bass where noticed immediately. The overall sound was cleaner, tighter and down right amazing. Implementing this feature allowed our movie reviewer to focus on the movie itself and not on that annoying buzzing sound coming from the DVD shelving unit, or the colossal spike in bass down in the 30Hz range.

The notch filters improvements were even more evident with music, turning our listening room into a concert hall. When playing two channel material, the sound stage was remarkably open and the imaging was precise and focused. A luxury that we enjoy while most home theater systems struggle to achieve.
