The RBH 66-SE/R surround speakers are amongst the best in the business. Weighting in at nearly thirty pounds each, the quality and construction of these speakers is impeccable. RBH has held nothing back when selecting the material and components used in these speakers. All RBH reference speakers use the same high end woofers and tweeters allowing them to produce perfect timber when used together. Surround sound material is seamless and smooth, not overpowering in the slightest. Keep in mind you can only achieve this by properly calibrating your system. The sound stage is extremely impressive due to the 66-SE/R’s configuration and components. There is one draw back when selecting a speaker of this magnitude. Mounting options are limited due to there size and weight. A mounting bracket was fabricated in order to achieve the fit and finish we desired. This allowed the speakers to be mounted on the wall while accommodating high quality speaker wires. In addition, the brackets added a sense of comfort due to that kind of weight being suspended above the seating position. Regretfully we were not able to mount these speakers in the most ideal location due to our listening rooms configuration, although that did not seem to impair there performance. Ideally you would mount this type of speaker on the side walls of your seating position. Our configuration did cause a small issue where we had to use an Echo Buster in the corner of the room where the surround speaker was mounted. This corrected the reflection we were experiencing and dramatically improved the sonic ambience of that speaker. With the minor issues corrected, The RBH 66-SE/R surround speakers are every bit deserving to be in the reference echelon of classification. These are high end speakers at a modest price!
