From the very opening scenes of fighter jets blasting over the ocean to helicopter blades whooping through the air, this movie provided non-stop, spine tingling sound sensations that gave our subwoofer a long awaited workout! From rapid gunfire and explosions, to hundreds of car windshields shattering and of course the much anticipated transformations of the robots themselves, the intense action and crystal clear, ear-popping sound are never-ending. Every scene promises to provide sinful little pleasures for all of your senses (ok maybe not taste, touch or smell but I’m including the funny bone too). With the perfect amount of comedy and real life drama, Transformers never ventures too far into the unbelievable or corny. It has the typical quirky parents and the quick witted humour of the main character, Sam Witwicky (played by Shia Labeouf) to lighten any serious situations. Not to mention the Transformers themselves have come to earth and studied the “World wide Web” in order to educate themselves on the human race which leads to numerous comical generalizations and situations involving their new earthly friends.

The plot itself is nothing new; the human race is once again facing extinction, this time by an evil alien robot army known as the Deceptacons, and the key to our survival rests in the hands of a Horney, pimple-faced high school boy named Sam. Along with the help of his stunningly attractive love interest Michaela (played by ?), his brand new yellow Chevy Camero, which is also an alien robot named Bumblebee (sent to earth to be Sam’s personal guardian), and the rest of the “autonomous robotic organisms from planet Cybertron” (“Autobots” for short), Sam bumbles his way through high school bullying, interfering parental rule, top security military agencies and invading alien robots to the final climactic battle between good and evil, the visually stunning fight scene between Optimus Prime, leader of the Autobots and Megatron, ruler of the Deceptacons. The ensuing death match will send shivers down your spine as your eyes are glued to the screen, I guarantee it!

Whether you grew up with the Transformers cartoons or not, everyone can and will enjoy this movie. Once again Spielberg has attached his infamous name to a blockbuster movie that promises to please any generation, young and old alike. Enjoy!!!
