The official movie trailer for Tim Burton’s “Dark Shadows” will debut on the “Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Thursday March 15th, but a few teaser clips and videos have emerged online based on footage from “Ellen.”
Warner Bros., who will release the trailer on Ellen and via Apple on iTunes, has also released the official website for the film, which will be in theatres and IMAX on May 11. The website has a countdown for the trailer debut on Apple in addition to social media information for the highly anticipated movie. The trailer for “Dark Shadows” will be released on Apple at 5 p.m. PST.
Some of the footage of the trailer emerged online thanks to an exclusive preview from the Ellen show. Johnny Depp, who plays vampire Barnabas Collins, and Eva Green, who plays vindictive witch Angelique Bouchard, are seen in an embrace and kiss and an intimate position. The flash to a shaking coffin, a young girl crying, Depp raising his arms and long finger nails vampire-style in the rain, and just like that, the three-second teaser is over.
The film stars Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer, Helena Bonham Carter, Eva Green, Jackie Earle Haley, Jonny Lee Miller, Bella Heathcote, Chloe Moretz, and Gulliver McGrath and is directed by Burton. The film is based on a 1960’s gothic television soap opera and cult classic of the same name by Dan Curtis, adapted for the silver screen by Seth Grahame-Smith and John August. The plot is centered around the Collins family and their various run-ins with the supernatural, werewolves, witches and vampires and Barnabas Collins, a man turned vampire thanks to a vindictive witch Angelique Bouchard, originally played by Lara Parker.
