Unlike other movies, where the protagonist is painted as hero, in this case, Rounders looks at the characters developments and the sacrifices that he has to make. 

Maverick, 1994

If you are looking for fun in a game of poker then this is definitely the movie that you should be watching, Maverick stars Mel Gibson in the leading role and what he does to make sure that he enters a high stakes poker game.  The movies is a remake of the TV show by the same name and even has some of the scenes from the TV show as well.
