    Batman : New Times

    Batman: New Times

    A Dave School Student Production
    http://www.daveschool.com

    >3 Months.
    >A Handful of artists.
    >An All-star Cast including Adam West, Courtney Thorne-Smith, Mark Hamill,
    and more.
    >Over 1000 cg characters.
    >Elaborate cg sets made entirely out of Lego blocks.
    >Twelve minutes of full cg animation
    >Exact 3D replicas of existing toys.

The Dave School class of December, 2004, under the direction of William
"Proton" Vaughan, is working on what promises to be one of the school's
most exciting final projects yet, a Batman-based short film.

    Using 3D models of Art Asylum's (http://www.artasylum.com/) Mini-Mate
Batman characters and sets designed with CG Lego building blocks, the
students are creating large, densely-populated worlds inhabited by
thousands of digital extras, including a ballroom scene and Gotham Square
    on New Year's Eve.

Voice casting includes the well-known talents of Adam West as Batman,
Courtney Thorne-Smith as Catwoman, and Mark Hamill as the Joker. Students
were able to listen in via speaker phone to the recording session, which
took place in North Hollywood earlier this month. This was a truly
fascinating experience, allowing them to hear real professionals at work.
Additional voice talent is being cast at this moment.

This project represents The DAVE School's 3rd collaboration with toy
designer Art Asylum, based in New York City, but it is the first time the
school has worked with characters that are represented by Art Asylum toys
    currently in production.

Wow! That is just fantastic! I'm amazed by what students can do nowadays. This looks to be a hoot and a half! Trailer's got me all buzzed, and with VO talent like that...how can you miss this? Thanks wireframe!
