    Romper Stomper

This is in editman's back catalogue, and it's not everyone's cup of tea.

editman does not endorse racism, but I do think this is one of the best Australian movies in the past 15 years.

FYI this is directed by Geoffery Wright, whose latest work is that teen sex & horror flick Cheery Falls.

But this is what put Russell Crowe in the map, before he did Virtuorsity that is.

And you don't see too many films in which Rus humping Jackie McKenzie (the blond scientist in Deep Blue Sea) from the back. Not no more.

Oh yes, one more shameless trivia: my friend Stephen Hall plays Flea the Sailor, and he did two scenes with Rus. He's even in this trailer too.

Hmmm... interesting. I've never seen this version before. Screenshot looks digitally manipulated (cos with the budget they've got in 92 I hardly think they were able to create such an effect on the set). Then again I could be wrong.

What's the running time of your version, bender?

The R1 runs for 92.5 minutes.

The R4 PAL clocks at 89 minutes (according to EzyDVD.com.au).
The original running time, according to IMDB & some other references, is 94 minutes.

And I suppose one can't buy the German DVD online?

BTW tisoy, it's not an eye injury. Bubs gets shot in the middle of his forehead.

it was digitally manipulated. the original shot was a simple little hole in the head and a littlebit blood. it original much better and was a more shoking image.

it's against the law here to ship dvds with an 18 rating via post.

thats why amazon.de only sells dvds up to the FSK 16 rating ...

anyway u can try this site http://www.xjuggler.de , only thing is that u need to have your account approved 1st

Phew! In the case it doesn't seem like it's longer than the other version(s?) on DVDs. tisoy said "more graphic" and I thought there exists a longer version of the flick. (And it would be ironic to get an 'uncut' version of an Australian film from Germany!)

I wonder the digital changes is approved by Geoffery Wright himself.

    *bump*

Just rented the R4 DVD to listen to the commentary (recorded for the Australian DVD release) and realised the 'enhanced' head wound of Bubs (see screengrab above) is there too! So it is director-approved alternation after all.

Funny that Geoffery Wright says in the commentary that 'you won't see the enhanced wound on any other versions except this one'. So it is confirmed that he hasn't seen the German DVD.

    BTW fixed dead link.
