Here's my thoughts on Kaena

I give this movie about 3.5 out of 5 stars. It is a great adventure through an alein world. The movie is georgeous. The pacing is great. It is the "first" adult CGI movie. There is death, violence, and skimpy clothes on the heroine Kaena, all of which is not gratuetous (ok maybe Kaena's clothes).

The reason why I gave it 3.5 stars however, is the animation. While the characters were rendered quite nicely, a feeling of stop-motion photography pervaded parts of the film. It was quite distracting.

If you're looking for a break from Pixar movies, give this movie a spin.
