    King Kong TRILOGY!

If this is an elaborate hoax for April Fool's, then Peter Jackson deserves a round of applause...

It seems that Universal is so taken with Jackson's work on Kong, they decided to spend the money that they had lying around (originally to be used for the rest of Chronicles of Riddick... too bad) on a Kong Trilogy!

Here's the tentative timeline for the release of all the films...

    King Kong - December 2005
King Kong: Son of Kong - June 2006
King Kong: Into the Wolf's Lair - December 2006

i am going to say that i think this is a joke....i had heard that he was talking about doing the Hobbit and would start something like in 2006/2007. which would be during this Kong trilogy timeline. however, the Hobbit is still just a rumor, so that might not be true either.

either way, i would love to see this as i loved LOTR and Kong was one of my favorite "monsters" growing up....but i still stand by my initial thought of being a joke.

Yeah, I'm starting to think so, too. First, I would wonder why they would divulge so much information about a sequel including preproduction photos, animatics, and plot points when the first one is being so closely guarded. Second, they made very little mention about how much work it would really take to get the entire cast to return for shooting. Third, there are some people who can't keep a straight face. The major part of this is towards the end when Peter is telling the crew to keep the set in good order, many crew members refuse to look at the camera or Peter and some are trying hard not to smile. In most of the other diaries, the crew is looking at Peter.

    Good joke, though.
