SCI FI Wire talked with Ron Perlman recently who told them the sequel to HELLBOY will be called HELLBOY 2: THE GOLDEN ARMY.

Perlman said during an interview, "I think that that's an invention based on a number of different things that have appeared in other comic books." He also added, "It's a compendium of a lot of elements that they were not able to address in the first one... Now they can kind of branch out a little bit and get funky with it...."

The production hopes to start filming later this year.

Cool. I liked the first one. Will be fun to see what they make of #2.

Hellboy 2: The Golden Army is no longer the title of the Hellboy remake.

Universal changed it to: HB 2

and the release date. New is 7/11/08
