this is how studios destry movies

Columbia Pictures' "Trapped" hits theaters today. Wanna check out an early review? Can't! The Sacramento Bee reports some serious news on why the film wasent screened for critics.

The parallels between the movie "Trapped" and the Danielle van Dam murder case were so strong, the studio canceled its ad campaign and kept the film's stars off the promotional talk show circuit.

The movie stars Kevin Bacon and Courtney Love as kidnappers of an asthmatic 8-year-old girl. Actress Charlize Theron portrays the mother who defies the FBI and tries to save her daughter's life.

In an effort to thwart possible negative reviews or news reports, studio executives didn't offer film critic screenings, there was no media junket and actors were asked not to discuss the movie, the Los Angeles Times reported Wednesday.

Why didn't they just push back the release date? Did that idea ever cross their minds?

    Two options:

    A. They release the movie with no advanced press or advertistments because of the current situation in the country.

    B. They shelve the movie for a few months, then give it a proper marketing campaign so that people will actually hear of it aside from Internet trailer junkies.

Which do you think is going to end up with the movie making more money? It's not like we're talking quantum physics here.
"Well, what if there is no tomorrow? There wasn't one today!"
