According to The Hollywood Reporter, DreamWorks Pictures and Universal Pictures are moving forward with a sequel to Gladiator, which won the best picture Oscar last year, hiring scribe John Logan to pen a follow-up to the Ridley Scott-helmed epic starring Russell Crowe as Gen. Maximus Decimus Meridus.
Logan was part of the original film's Oscar-nominated writing team with David Franzoni and William Nicholson.
Although details of the plot are being kept under wraps, it reportedly will pick up 15 years after the end of the first installment, which saw the demise of several lead characters, including topliner Crowe.
Universal Pictures will likely take international rights on the sequel, as it did on the first movie.
mmmm and i think they will get THE ROCK to star :big grin:

The Rock....ugh. If you are gonna pay someone that much money to star in this film, you might as well pay a real actor!!!
