    Convert FLV files

    Hello,

anyone knows a way to convert a flv video into another format like avi, mpg or mov ?

I try to search but find nothing interesting. Maybe I'm not looking for the right way.

I hope someone could help me.

    Thanks in advance

There's a program called FLV encoder that will let you convert into mpg or avi just by changing the extension while typing in or editing the title of the destination video file within the program. The installed files include ffmpeg.exe, which converts to and from the .flv format and can be used directly from a command window.

However, some flash 8 .flv files will not be converted thanks to the On2 VP6 video codec - demanding a licence of $10000 has prevented the open source market developing converters for files using it...

Finally I tried with this freeware SUPER © v2006.build.17 (you can dl it here). This program can convert a lot of different format and it's very simple to use.

And you can find a presentation here

It works but not with every FLV files. Maybe it depends if they were converted with the On2 VP6 video codec or not....

    Thanks anyway for your help.

i`ve compared these tools mentioned by moyea and nukacola, and in my opinion geovid tool is better in some ways, due to it`s easiness and quality.

I've tried it once. I won't call it simple but works OK.
