I believe it can be an interesting option, but since I don't have internet at home I can't support it (and I don't know how I could do that).

Just to say that I like more the traditional method of looking for each trailer.

Anyway, the final answer is from JPB. I believe that will be him who will have to work to make it operational, isn't it?

thousands of users visit ML every day
some have trailer collections
even fewer have some really rare interesting ones
the question in this poll is simple
do u care about those collections / do u want them gathered all together and easily accesible?

have you an idea how torrents work? Its the torrent maker who has to have all those files to create torrent. Another users cant add their trailers into torrent, they just can help seed this.
Basically what this means is that if it was JPB to do this, he´d have to have ALL the trailers (lets say 40gigs) and upload them with HIS bandwith. Other users could help him seed this, but they´d have to have the SAME files and have the SAME names on them (which actually means if I´d want to help him seed like 1k trailers, I´d have to rename them ALL AND spend like 15gigs on my bandwith...No, I would never /want/ do that).
You dont understand why would someone say no? I would. Its just meaningless for most of us

Without getting into the whole "collection of trailers" situation which has many problems of it's own...

We tried having torrents for trailers in the past.. like when the star wars trailers were released.

The problem is not enough people seed to make it worthwhile.
Torrents for movies work because they are large (but not massive) files, they are harder to find, and people like to seed them because it makes them 'rebellious'.

Trailers are already available online, smaller in size, and people just want to download, watch and be done with it.

To make a long story short, we've done it all before... set up trackers, seeded trailers and it did not work.

It's not necessarily a bad idea... it's just not feasible right now.

I dont get whats your problem. Nothing is gonna b deleted, there are always ways to get to most of the trailers, there will always b someone, who will keep it, not to mention that most of them are kept online, on DVDs and now on new formats in HD, which makes online files pretty much useless. Your constant not dealing with normal facts and obtrusion of something noone is interested in and what would probably never work is getting annoying. You want some exact trailer? Make a request in request list. Some will b found, some ULed in VOB section, some are still somewhere on net. As said, most are available, making torrent is just waste of time, bandwith, HDD space, electricity and blah blah blah. Stop obtrusion. Not to mention that you spoke bout some trackers where this works or would work .... well, go there!

You can almost found any books, movies, tv-series, trailers, mp3, music videos, games, paintings on the web.
