    MPEG file info

I got many MEPG files. Like (not only) the MPEG trailers ive dl from this site. If I wanna burn and VCD or SVCD of this, I need to know what kind of file it is. Like is it VCD or SVCD? is it NTSC or PAL?

Does anyone know a program I can use to find this info? I got programs that I can convert them with. But it dosent tell me what it is from the start. And converting files for no use fells dumb =)

there are currently 4 mpeg file "systems", i think there are more

Mpeg1 (VCD, very small res, oldest)

Mpeg2 (DVD, high res, best quality, biggest size)

Mpeg2 SVCD (just a low bitrate mpeg2, and with out the extras of DVD mpeg2)

mp3 (audio compression from mpeg1, now a standard audio for format for people to tired to buy real CDs)

mpeg4 iso (latest standard, best quality to size ratio, best for streaming video and also codec of choice for internet video piracy)

    mpeg4 ACC ( new mpeg4 audio codec)

basically u need a DVD software player to play back Mpeg2 (DVD, SVCD)... if u dont have DVD software and can't playback...

ask me more, I can surely help you

thanks but I think i need to rephrase my question.

I need a program that can tell me what kind of MPEG a file is. Like, I run the prog, tell it to analyse a file for me and it tells me for example "400x600, 25fps". from that i can then tell what kind it is. SVCD, PAL for example.
