    Exclamation

judging from this trailer, it seems Fincher's adaptation of the book is more faithful and more thorough than the Swedish version.

    I don't think so.
At first the Swedish version is in the Swedish language, the same language as the original book.
Second, Fincher misses the subtleties from the book, because he has to work with a translation, the same translation the actors have to face.
Third, Finchers movie isn't spoken in the original language with subs or dubbed so it looks more genuine, but that's a wrong assumption.

I think it might be more faithful, too. There's so much they left out from the first book. Now, I know they've got extended versions coming out closer to the release of Fincher's.

And just because it's not in Swedish doesn't mean it won't be faithful.

    Call it... friend-o.

Maybe, seen through North American eyes....

Based on the trailer alone I'm not convinced, and I think J7's assumption is premature.
