    M2TS Playback Issues

Are we allowed to make requests for MKV trailers ?

By the way, thanks you for it, it's so much better than what we usually find.

    EDIT: I'm looking for
    - Into The Wild in 1080p, 5.1 if possible (I downloaded a m2ts version on the forum but the video doesn't work properly)
    - Black Swan in 5.1 (D-cinema 1080p 5.1 available ?). I'm dying to have this one if it's possible ^^

You can playback the m2ts file in MPC-HC Player or if you want to playback it in your current player, install the K-Lite Codec Pack for [Gabest MPEG PS/TS splitter].

    MPC-HC
    http://www.xvidvideo.ru/media-player...cinema-x86-x64

    K-Lite Codec Pack
    http://www.codecguide.com/download_k...pack_basic.htm

Or you can convert m2ts file to mkv by yourself using some tools below. It takes 10 seconds.

    1) Demux video and audio stream from m2ts

    tsMuxeR 1.10.6
    http://www.videohelp.com/tools/tsMuxeR

    2) Remux it to mkv

    mkvtoolnix
    http://www.bunkus.org/videotools/mkvtoolnix/win32/
    extract mkvtoolnix-unicode-4.8.0.7z and use mmg.exe.

    Hello,

I'm using Media Player Classic with the K-lite codec pack already. I downloaded a few m2ts trailers (Collateral and The Truman Show) and they work fine, but ITH trailer doesn't (problem with video). As it only happens with this one I thought it was the trailer in itself that had a problem.

Do you think converting the video will change something ?

    OK. Maybe it's a VC-1 Codec problem.

    1) Open ffdshow Video properties panel and go to Codecs and make sure that the VC-1 is disabled.
    2) Open MPC-HC option and go to Internal Filters and make sure that the VC-1(ffmpeg) is checked and VC-1(DXVA) is unchecked.

Do you think converting the video will change something ?
Maybe you are using [WMVideo Decoder DMO] codec to playback VC-1 files now and [WMVideo Decoder DMO] can't work correctly on m2ts or with Mpeg splitter.

If you convert m2ts to mkv, you can playback Into the wild trailer fine. Because [WMVideo Decoder DMO] works fine with VC-1 on mkv.

But the [WMVideo Decoder DMO] produces really ugly image itself I think. so I recommend you to change the codec to playback VC1 anyhow.

I disabled VC-1 in ffdshow and I have no image at all, just the bottom bar with play, pause... buttons.

By the way I don't have VC-1 ffmpeg and DXVA options in MPC's Internal Filters.I have a "CDXA" and a "MPEG PS/TS/PVA", is that it ?

You are using libavcodec in ffdshow for vc-1 definitely.
libavcodec also can't work properly with MPEG Splitter, but it doesn't have a problem with quality.
So If you convert m2ts to mkv, All problems will gone. So do convert if you like.
    But I still recommend ffmpeg.

    Use MPC-HomeCinema
    http://www.xvidvideo.ru/media-player...-5-2-3338.html

Go to Options - Internal Filters - Transform Filters - check VC1(FFmpeg) and uncheck VC-1(DXVA)
"MPEG PS/TS/PVA" in the source Filters should be checked too.

    Or

    Use MPC-HC Standalone Filters
There is also in the same page(bottom of the page) above.

Extract archive and pick "MPCVideoDec.ax" up and move it into "C:\" drive.
Open command prompt and type "regsvr32 C:\MPCVideoDec.ax" and Enter.

Playback Into the Wild Trailer and right click on the window and "Filters" - "MPC video decoder" - "Codecs Tab" and make sure that VC1(FFmpeg) is checked and VC1(DXVA) is unchecked.

    I'm sorry for my English.

It's ok for your english, it's not my native language either !

I updated my K-lite codec pack and changed the internal filters the way you said. Now it works fine.

    Many thanks !
