Michael Bay and Roland Emmerich are synonymous. Both make big budget stinker movies. Nevertheless, they are guilty pleasures for many a movie goer.

Looking forward to this Godzilla movie. Especially after the disastrous 1998 version.

It's interesting that the "leaked" trailer has the Oppenheimer speech (about "I am become death") while there was a documentary TV-movie type, by the PBS ("American Experience: The Trials of J. Robert Oppenheimer; a film by David Grubin) where David Strathairn played Oppenheimer.

I really like Brian Cranston's acting. I believe he can deliver a solid emotional aspect of this film. That one shot alone of him gasping in horror and fear (more like breaking down into crying than gasping) has quite an impact. It takes me back to Heisei series when Godzilla was a dinosaur on Lagos island: Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah (1991).
My favorite (human) part of that movie was when...
Godzilla and Yasuaki Shindo (from the 1944 Lagos island incident where the dinosaur seemingly defended the Japanese forces by fighting the American forces) stare at each in other in utter sadness.
Those few seconds of them seeing each other and accepting the death that is to follow (Godzilla kills Shindo and Shindo honorably accepts) adds a significant proportion to the story rather than a usual monster brawl with a news reporter.

I would love to see the next trailer have the Oppenheimer speech re-instated with some samples of the film score. It would be on my mp3 player forever.

Beyond excited to see this in theaters (multiple times).

I though the 1998 version was a good "Popcorn" movie, the opening sequence of the old guy fishing at the end of the dock was well done and hilarious.
In respect to the vintage Godzilla efforts, well.... you need a taste for it, I used to watch them on TV as a kid, but I never got a real attachment for them, big thing in Asia of course.
The first trailer is kind of lame though, half the trailer centers very well done military jump that builds up the anticipation, with nothing at the end of it...., the only glimpse of Godzilla is a 2 second head shot at the end, in the smoke/fog with no other "Cold Blooded critter" in sight. I think they could have done better for a first off.

It appears the WB QuickTime 1080p encode is HEAVILY compressed. It's less than half the size of the 720p version and shows quite a bit of artifacting.
