@j7wild
No need to continue, you don't like it and that's all there is to it, I respect your choice, but not necessarily the basis of your opinion.
I'm no Fanboy, I enjoyed the original trilogy in the theatres and I still remember the "Awe", same with "Raiders of the Lost Ark". To dislike a movie because it's including all the things we loved about the original (hopefully with better effects), and in a different context, is rather strange to say the least.
Every single movie ever made including "A Trip to the Moon" by Melies has inspired so many movies that we probably can't even count them anymore. So a classic such as Star Wars borrowing from itself to provide some of the best elements that made it what it is, is actually a bonus.
Doing it this way appeals to both the older and younger generations, and don't get me wrong, the first Trailer sucked as far as I'm concerned, but this new one rules.
We agree to disagree, That's fine by me.
I can't see through walls, but I can kick your ass.

I can't wait for DCP version in glorious 5.1 audio. The music is awesome!!!

I'm patiently waiting for the big one to come along.
Going to run all the trailers back-to-back.
-
So I watched the QT version.
A hundred times.
I would pre-order tickets, but that's going to be futile at this point.
Not very likely at all to get seats I want with whom I want.
I hope it decides to stay in IMAX theaters for a good long run.
Now we play the waiting game for a nice dcp/prores/dvcpro encode.

Here come the waterworks.
Never thought I'd tear up over a trailer.
I hate seeing Leia being all sad like that! That's now how I wanted to see her after all these decades.
This is going to worth seeing in IMAX theaters.

As a side note, Luke might have been in the trailer after all.
@ 1:41 there's a short glimpse of someone reaching out to touch R2, it could be anyone, but on a closer look it appears to be a mechanical hand (prosthetic), which would certainly hint to Luke being that individual.

That's what I thought when I saw that shot in the teaser trailers.
The only cyborgs I know are the Skywalker family.
When I watched Episode 3 and saw what happened to Anakin, I almost shouted in the theater that "it runs in the family!"
I also have strong beliefs that the "voice" in the trailer just might be Luke.
A very conflicted Luke.
But, that doesn't mean much until the movie is watched.
Until then, it's just so great to see a reunion of classic SW and the new generation of SW.
Like seeing Leonard Nimoy in the new Star Trek films. (without the time travel reboot)
-
I also have the feeling that the dark jedi is Luke. There were works set post episode 6 (Dark Empire) that had Luke turn to the dark side.
-
Awesome trailer. It didn't reveal too much, yet gave enough to get me excited. I already bought my tickets.
