This is tragic news.

I really don't have much interest in the following Avatar films.
Sure the next composer will adapt the themes and motifs.
But it will really be obvious as they do changes with actors.

I'll probably wait until the movies reach the discount bin on bluray before giving them a watch and give it a year for the new composer to grow on me with Horner's environment that he created.

I was just about to rewatch A Beautiful Mind because of the recent passing of Nash.
Now I can watch it to mourn two people.

ABM is probably one of my most favorite work of his.

I'm a huge, HUGE James Horner fan. Sooo many great scores. Apollo 13, A Beautiful Mind, Braveheart, Casper, Clear and Present Danger, Cocoon, Courage Under Fire, Glory, Land Before Time, Legends of the Fall, Mask of Zorro, The Missing, The New World (the director made a HUGE mistake not using his music in the film), Patriot Games, The Perfect Storm, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn, and of course... Titanic. The list goes on and on and I am sure I'm missing some. I will absolutely miss his music. This is such a great loss.
