That was intense.
I love it when they warp music like that and mix it with a bunch of trailer effects. A very nice rise and some stutter.

That really got me going in the end.
No more trailers for me.

Really glad it's not a found-footage format, either.
A very nice change.

The first one really has its appeal. The sound design, especially.
I watched the trailer to the first one to death, and that was really when they did 720p only? Maybe it was just SD only.

I'm not sold that this is actually a sequel to "Cloverfield", granted it does have all the elements of hush hush mystery marketing, touches on the colour palette of the original movie with the green sky, and appears to focus on a small group of people.

But...... as the tag line goes "Monsters Come in Many Forms", it leads me to believe that it might somewhat be associated with the "Cloverfield" events, but as a Standalone movie, as opposed to a sequel.

The first trailer gives me more of a "Mist" feel, more than anything else actually.

True, there's a lot left open to how it connects to the first film.

The tub of vapour and the rubber gloves really has me intrigued.

I have suspicions...
there will be humanoid mutations based on the little critters from the first one that were exploding people in that underground military camp.

I thought about that as well, but it states "Many Forms" as opposed to size.

It also gives you the impression of being post apocalyptic in nature, so I'm not so sure that the "Forms" are not simply a reference to man itself.
Either way, whatever it is, having windows in doors, and simple locks does not appear to be a security issue.

The film was originally completed as a story completely seperate to Cloverfield and then it didn't go anywhere. The studios picked it up and "retooled" it into a Cloverfield sequel that has the "blood" of Cloverfield but is not a full-on Cloverfield sequel. It's doubtful they went in and did a lot of reshoots but there was a small period of reshoots (to give it that Cloverfield link).
