Why does the story looks almost exactly like the story from the 2013 video game?

Because it's based on that exact storyline. Even the moves, the jumps, weapons, outfit, they seem like they're sticking very close to the game's look and feeling. I'm cautiously enthusiastic because I played and enjoyed both the 2013 and the 2015 games. Can't be worse than Assassin's Creed. If nothing else, it will be a popcorn adventure-action filled flick, but hope for a bit more.

The Angelina Jolie movies weren't that close to the early Tomb Raider games (1-5 before the first XBox Tomb Raider game) and I have played them all on Sega Saturn, Sony Playstation and PS 2.

Different studios, different times, different people involved.. I don't get your point.

I think they want to stick close to the stories from the recent games because they were well received, both by critics and fans. It's probably the safer route at the moment, from a creative standpoint, considering how all the video game based adaptations we had so far, were pretty average or worse.
