    ProRes Issues

    Sinners (2025) IMDB
    Companion (2025) IMDB
Trailers in ProRes with slate version.
    filenames:
    dom_trlr_1_no_gb_txtd_1080p_2398_sinners
    dom_trlr_2_online_txtd_1080p_2398_sinners
    dom_trlr_1a_online_txtd_1080p_2398_compan
    WRCO12B8000D-DOM_TRAILER_3_ONLINE_125

WB's no slate version have blocking/mosaics issue. With slate version has better picture quality, much better. If anyone has those trailers, please help me. Thanks in advance!

I assume you're trying to Upscale them? Then may I recommend that you try using some of the tools available to correct it, they exist. Actually FFMPEG does a great job, otherwise source out DCP's for conversion.

I'm not sure where you got this information from, but I'm sure they can supply you with the trailers as well, and feel free to share them as we do.

I post what WB, or any other studio distributes to Press venues.

Sorry, what you see is what you get.

WB's with slate version is encoded by DaVinci Resolve, no slate version is re-encoded by ffmpeg. I know ffmpeg does a great job, except Lavc 422 HQ (-c:v prores_ks -profile:v 3) ,this setting has a bug(blocking/mosaics issue). Unfortunately, WB's no slate version is encoded by Lavc 422 HQ.
Here is Evil Dead Rise trailer 1 Comparison (with slate version ProRes vs. no slate version ProRes) with slate version ProRes encode is better than no slate version ProRes encode.

As I know, with slate version is posted on WB's own press site(https://mediapass.warnerbros.com), but I can't get access.

How fast we went from "anything better than YouTube," to "Better quality ProRes" trailers.

MediaPass has always been the WB Press site, so once you get access, feel free to post the encodes of your choice in the forum. In the interim what you see is what you get.

I haven't changed my standards. I just think the quality of WB's no slate ProRes(Lavc ProRes 422 HQ) encodes are not good enough for the size of several GB.
I like those 4 trailers, so I posted that request to see if I can find a better version(with slate version ProRes) for my collection, that's all. Now I get it, what I see is what I get. Just treat this as a discussion about picture quality of ProRes encodes.

BTW, I love this forum, and I'm always grateful that you are so kind to share various good quality trailers, have a great day.
