    Sequels News.......

Columbia Pictures wants to make a third Men In Black

Producer Dean Devlin is in talks for an "Eight Legged Freaks 2", a sequel to the David Arquette starring Spidey piece of 2002. Kelly Brook is being tipped to star alongside Tom Cruise in the new Mission Impossible movie. The former bra model is reportedly in talks to play the female lead in the film. Kelly, 23, is hot property in the US since landing a £150,000 role as a bitchy relative of Charlotte in the hit TV show Sex And The City. A film insider told The Sun: "Paramount, who make Sex And The City and release the Mission Impossible films, love her and want her for the film. "Bosses think she will be great as Cruise's love interest in MI:3. "She's sexy and she can act. Scripts are just being finalized now." The Mission Impossible role would complete Kelly's transformation from telly flop to Hollywood star. The actress was sacked by Channel 4's Big Breakfast after a six-month stint in 1999. Her first big acting break was in the Superman TV spin-off Smallville. The brunette from Kent now lives in Los Angeles with her boyfriend Jason Statham, who starred in Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels."

    Anaconda 2?

Variety says that Columbia Pictures' 1997 hit Anaconda may finally get a sequel. Anaconda II would be produced for Columbia's specialty label Screen Gems and again produced by Verna Harrah. Dwight Little (Murder at 1600) is in negotiations to direct.

The original film starred Jennifer Lopez and Ice Cube as documentary makers terrorized in the rain forest by a giant snake. The film grossed more than $136 million worldwide.

John Claflin and Dan Zelman (They Nest) are rewriting a draft by Ed Neumeier (Robocop) and Mike Miner. Little's credits include episodes of "The X-Files" and "The Practice" as well as Halloween 4 and Free Willy 2.

I hear they’ve just opened up an office at Sydney’s Fox Studios for “Anaconda 2” which probably means they’ll be working on the special effects there.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Middle Fork Productions' sequel to the 1997 thriller “Anaconda “will be the first film to shoot in Fiji under new tax incentives designed to lure offshore production, and which only came into effect this past March, the Fiji Audio Visual Commission said Friday.

As with the first film, Sony is handling distribution on the sequel, which will be called “Anaconda 2: The Black Orchid”. It starts shooting in Fiji from early July, with the country doubling as a backdrop for Borneo.

When the snakes aren't present, human greed, ambition and murder hold the stage. And when the snakes start showing up, well, what the black orchid is really good for, it would seem, is turning big snakes into really, really huge snakes since, as we all know, Anacondas never stop growing, and the longer they live, the bigger they get and the more people they can eat in this sort of old fashioned jungle adventure."

hehe.. i get bagged for this all the time.. but i want to see a sequel to independance day...

it would be like taking the rebel alliance, putting them on earth, and having them battle evil aliens as opposed to other humans... cmon.. and i want to see jerry bruckheimer produce it!

and.. umm. i want a director who can make a movie dark.. without all the disney (tm) "sweet sickness"...

if i cant get a "dark" director either richard donner for good action... or the wachowski bros... ooh.. if only!
