Movies that make countries look bad.

What movies do you know that make a country look really bad. I can think of off the top of my head...

    USA: Bowling for Columbine
AUSTRALIA: Rabbit Proof Fence (set a fair while ago), All Crocodile Dundee movies.
KOREA: We Were Soldiers (i know, set a long time ago)
BRITAIN: The Patriot (i know, set even further back)

    What can u think of?

Canadian Bacon made us look both bad and good...depending on which part you're talking about.

I think we ARE polite but we're not pushovers

USA: agreed - Bowling makes the States look insane
AUSTRALIA: Croc Hunter. I can't stand him and I don't think many australians can either
KOREA: Didn't they hate Die Another Day?

Yes, they did, although I can't figure out why. Sure, the bad guy was from North Korea, but it was clear from the movie that he was working on his own and did not have any backing from the government or the people, and even his own father, who was in the military, balked at what he was about to do.

The Patriot is the same way. Sure, the British Commander played by Jason Issacs looked bad, but I think it was established that even his own military thought he was out of control.

The actions of one lone individual should not reflect on an entire country, especially when his or her country doesn't like that person or what that person is doing.

Now, the Bowling for Columbine and the Crodile Dundee movies, I would agree with. I haven't seen Canadian Bacon or Rabbit Proof Fence, so I don't know.

    u mean VIETNAM.. !!!!!

We were soldiers even starts the movie with the vietcong fighting the French, when INDO CHINA was still under French rule..

We Were Soldiers , does not make Vietnam bad at all, We Were Soldiers is one of the best "anti-war" movies ever made, it makes u think what the hell are the soldiers doin there in a WAR they should not be involved in, and the carnage of war...

well... if u want... just about any movie set in World WAR II Europe makes Germany BAD....heheheh, well Germany was the bad side, which is true, but it was Germany under the NAZI rule

I was going to mention something like that but I think it's common knowledge that Germany is a pretty cool place now. Unless anyone has seen any movies set in recent times that make Germany look bad...

On the topic of WW2 movies Enemy at the Gates kinda makes Russia look poor and weak. Though that may have been Russia in WW2...then again it may also be exagerated...being surrounded by a losing military makes the hero look even better.

not really bad, but somehow south park: bigger, longer and uncut makes fun of it, when the boys are watching the german "extreme fetish" porn on the net. afaik it is changed to a french porn in the german version

Braveheart made the English look bad. I'd also throw in that many cold war movies made the Soviets look not so good.
You're waiting for a train, a train that will take you far away. You know where you hope this train will take you, but you can't be sure. But it doesn't matter - because we'll be together.

    Reminds me!

Monty Python and the Holy Grail!

"I'm French! Why do you think I have this outragous accent, you silly english K-nig-ht!!! I wave my private parts at you! I fart in your general direction! Your mother was a hampster and your father smelled of eldiberries!!! Now go away before I taunt you a second time!"

French are portrayed as silly and mean. Then again everyone in that movie is silly....
